What is a pool pump enclosure, and how does it work

A pool pump enclosure is a structure that is typically made from wood, metal, or plastic, and is designed to house the pool pump and its associated equipment. Pool pump enclosures can come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be customised to fit the specific needs of your swimming pool. Some pool pump enclosures also include an acoustic box, which is a structure that helps to reduce noise pollution from the pool pump.

Why install a pool pump enclosure?

Installing a pool pump enclosure around the motor not only keeps the area tidy but it also provides acoustic insulation. This can dramatically reduce noise pollution and help save money by reducing energy costs.

Additionally, pool pump enclosures also help to keep water clean by keeping the equipment out of direct contact with rain or other contaminants in the environment. This helps prevent erosion and further damage to parts like impellers and seals which can lead to permanent pump failure. Keeping your pool pump equipment safe is a great first step toward protecting your family from pool related accidents and injuries.

Tips for choosing the right size and style of pool pump shed for your yard

When it comes to choosing a pool pump shed, there are a few things you need to take into consideration. The first is the size of your yard - you'll want to make sure you select a shed that's big enough to fit the pump and allit’s accessories comfortably. The next thing to think about is the style of the shed - We offer backless, side-less and side access variations.

Backless Acoustic Box Pool Enclosure

A ‘backless’ enclosure is more appropriate when there is less than 2 inches from the wall and the equipment (e.g.: a pipe, a filter, pump etc.). The design of the backless enclosure will allow you to lift the lid without hitting the wall / fence. They have additional ‘brackets’ at the back which get affixed (screwed / bolted) to the wall / fence.

Please note, backless enclosures therefore add 50mm to the depth – Please click here for pictures of our backless enclosures

Side-less Acoustic Box Pool Enclosure

A side-less enclosure is useful/required when you do not have 25mm of space down one side of the enclosure to fit the side panel. An example of that is when there are pipes or other equipment too close to a side wall which prevents you from sliding the side panel (of the enclosure). The design uses the same ‘wall brackets ‘which are used for ‘backless’ enclosures. A side-less enclosure adds 50mm to the width and comes with a door stay in lieu of a gas strut

Side Access Acoustic Box Pool Enclosure

Side Access is an enclosure that also has a removable door on one of the sides (in lieu of the normal side panel). This is particularly useful when there is confined access to the enclosure (e.g.: it is located at the side of the house on a narrow thoroughfare). Having a side access panel allows you access the enclosure from the side (rather than the front). Please click here for pictures.
